FIESTA 2019: Destined to Shine

February 16, 2019

We are moving! This year join us at the Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capitol District.

Each year we gather as a Mercy community with donors, alumnae, staff, students, family and friends to host this annual event that raises money for our Negotiated Tuition Program. We provide $1.8 million in tuition assistance annually to 82% of our families.

Your participation in and support of FIESTA 2019 is critical to Mercy. Thanks to people like you, deserving students have the opportunity to receive a quality, faith-based education.

This year's Master of Ceremonies is Carrie Potter '95.  Read more about Carrie here.

Nicole Hahn Jesse ’80 and John Jesse will receive the school's highest award, the Cor Misericordiae Award, at FIESTA. Read more here.

The FIESTA working group was very deliberate in choosing this year’s theme, wanting synergy from various perspectives.  Those included:
•    Building on last year’s theme, FIESTA 2018: The Gold Standard.
•    Focusing on Mercy Girls as the centerpiece of our efforts.
•    Illuminating how donor and parent support makes all the difference.

Second, Mercy’s new brand messaging provided a roadmap as we took into consideration how the school is committed to let each girl shine and reach her full potential. We also looked at how we empower young women to be strong, compassionate and to get things done, letting them become stars.  Additionally, we considered that FIESTA is a donor event, where we focus a spotlight on how our supporters shine, by transforming lives and our community.

The theme naturally emerged.
