During your education at Mercy High School, you will form lasting friendships and lifelong memories. Students from all over Omaha and surrounding areas will become your Mercy classmates, with each girl bringing her unique talents, skills and background to our learning environment. The traditions and values that you will find at Mercy, will be ones you will treasure throughout your future.
At Mercy, our most important admissions requirement is that applicants must have a sincere desire to be a "Mercy Girl"
To determine that, the following steps must be completed to secure admission*:
- 1. Spend a day shadowing either your 7th or 8th grade year
- 2. Take the 8th Grade Scholarship & Placement Exam at Mercy High School on January 12, 2019
- 4. Go through a one-on-one interview with a member of the administrative team on January 21, 2019
*You will be informed of our decision regarding your acceptance by the middle of February.
A limited number of students will be admitted each year. It is highly recommended that students fulfill their shadow requirement as early as possible, thus further indicating their desire to attend Mercy. In the event that the class fills to capacity, students will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis according to when interest in attending Mercy was first demonstrated.
For more information, please contact our Director of Admissions, Mrs. Anne McGill.
If you are interested in transferring to Mercy High School as a freshman, sophomore, or junior student, your first step is to have your transcripts faxed to ensure that Mercy can academically accommodate you. Transcripts can be faxed to (402)553-0394. Once, we receive your records and determine that you can be successful at Mercy High School, we will begin the transfer student admissions process which includes shadowing for a day, submitting an essay stating why you want to attend Mercy, and going through an interview with a member of the administrative team.
Transfer students are allowed to transfer at 1st or early 2nd semester. Mercy High School does not accept senior transfer students unless they have recently moved to the Omaha area.
