Mercy Girl Effect

We are a "mercying" movement that dares to invent the future.

As our world spirals more and more out of control with an increasing disparity in global access to basic human rights - education, healthcare and water - and in equal opportunities for girls and boys, it is too easy to become discouraged and do NOTHING. That, however, is not the response of those of us who belong to the Mercy Girl Effect.

This year's challenge comes from the Sisters of Mercy in Kenya. Sister Mary Okuma is a young nurse who runs mobile clinics attached to Mutomo Hospital, in Kitui County, a remote area of semi-arid land. Most of the people there are farmers and are dependent on the rains.

No rain means no crops and consequently no food to eat.
We are raising money for young pregnant teens being helped at a medical clinic run by as a Sister of Mercy in Kitui county.

To donate, send your desired amount our Venmo, @Mercy-HighSchoolOmaha, or send a check to Mercy High School.

Thank you for helping the 2024-2025 Mercy Girl Effect!
