Plant Sale Raises Money for Tuition Assistance

Mercy High School students take an active role in raising money for  tuition assistance to benefit fellow students by selling plants and flowers.  This year the student body raised $47,789.  Mercy provides more financial assistance per student than any other high school in Omaha. Last year more than $1.6 million was provided in tuition assistance to 82% of the families. 

The gigantic plant sale pick up is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. at the Pine Street entrance of the school at 1501 South 48thStreet.  Additional plants and flowers will be on sale that day.

Mercy parents Kris and Anne Harsh, Paul and Betsy Austin, and Eric and Halle Hoge will lead teams of school parents in distributing plants and flowers.  Spirited students, alumnae and faculty also help.  This year’s offerings include geraniums, begonias, impatiens, petunias, marigolds, coleus and Gerber daisies as well as spike, sprengeri and vinca vine fillers.Westlake Ace Hardware provides plants and flowers for the sale.
