Prayer for the Beatification of Catherine McAuley
Loving God, you chose Catherine McAuley for the service of your people who are poor, sick and uneducated. You inspired her to found the Sisters of Mercy that these good works might endure. Give to each of us a portion of her compassionate spirit and ardent desire to serve your suffering people.
Bless all our undertakings and grant that union and charity may always thrive among us. Graciously hear our prayer for Catherine, and by granting the favors we ask through her intercession, hasten the day when her sanctity will be celebrated by all the church. Amen.
Freshmen Unity Day
The Class of 2025 gathered together for a day full of games and activities during the first part of Freshmen Unity Day. This tradition allows our newest Monarchs to become better acquainted with each other and to develop their identity as a class. Some of their games included:
Race for the Truth - Students stood in a line and took a step forward when a statement applied to them. The first person to cross the finish line won. Statements ranged from "I've lived in Omaha my whole life" to "I don't like chocolate."
Speed Meeting - Freshmen were given prompts to discuss for 2 minutes, and then they moved on to meet their next classmate.
10 Things - students were randomly assigned to groups of 6-8 students. They had to come up with 10 (not obvious) things they had in common.
At the end of the day, freshmen were given the opportunity to write a note to one of their classmates they met that day letting them know they were glad to have met them.
National Honor Society
Nineteen juniors and one senior were inducted into the National Honor Society on November 9. These students exhibited excellence in leadership, service, and character while maintaining a GPA of 3.7 or above. The Honorable Francie Reidmann Weis ’81 was the keynote speaker.

- For 'Tis the Season Tuesday, students' costumes will represent their favorite holiday movies. They'll get a special snack during lunch.
- Then it's Summer Special Wednesday. There will be a trivia competition over lunch, and students can dress as a character from their favorite summer movie.
- Throwback Thursday will feature costumes from old movies and a game of bingo.
- We'll end Spirit Week with Chill at Home Friday. Students can wear their comfiest Mercy gear, and each class will present their special class dance.

FIESTA 2022: Miracle on 48th Street
On February 19, 2022, we will celebrate the miracles that take place at Mercy.
From the quality, faith-based education that students enjoy every day to the Mercy traditions that have lasted through generations of Monarchs, Mercy has been blessed. Included in those miracles are the students we have been privileged to educate, the teachers we have been honored to employ, and the supportive community we have been blessed to know.
Join us for FIESTA 2022 as we celebrate the miracle that is Mercy High School.
We will be celebrating David & Mary Franco Levy '70 as this year's Cor Misericordiae Award winners.
