Mercy Reflections

Prayer for the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy
September 24, 2019

On this special day we praise and honor you, Jesus, who in your coming among us marked out Mercy as the principal path on our journey to You. We celebrate Mary your mother, the Mother of Mercy, who as she held you, holds each of us lovingly and tenderly in her merciful heart. We celebrate Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, a woman of faith, whose gift was Mercy and whose passion was to serve your suffering people.
As we rejoice in this abundance of grace, we ask you to deepen in us this wellspring of Mercy. Let us hear the pain and anguish of those who cry out for justice and let us respond generously. Let our hearts be filled with compassion for the stranger and the outcast and welcome them into our midst. Let us open our hearts to the cry of earth and reverence and care for our common home.

Gracious God, we thank you for Catherine, a woman of faith and a woman unafraid to risk. We are grateful for all who walked the path of Mercy from 1831 to today. We appreciate our relationships with each other and with all who have enriched our  lives in Mercy. We value all the women and men of Mercy, who with tenderness and fidelity have devoted themselves to the works of Mercy ... Gracious God, we thank you.

Interior Signage

As a school, we do our best to live the Mercy mission every day. Thanks to generous donors, including alumnae, we have some new signage in the front office and the Advancement Office.  These are great visual reminders of the mission coupled with Mother McAuley’s inspirational words of wisdom. We also added powerful quotes from women leaders in the hallways to inspire students.
