Transfer Timeline & Eligibility for Sports
NSAA Transfer & Eligibility Rules (Nebraska)
If a student transfers schools and wants to participate in NSAA sports, the following rules apply:

To be immediately eligible, the transfer must be filed with the NSAA by March 15 for the following school year (for all sports, including spring).

Transfers filed after March 15 will result in a 90 school-day waiting period before varsity participation is allowed.

This rule applies once during high school unless there is a parental change of residence.

Hardship waivers may be available for non-athletic reasons (e.g., family relocation, illness, etc.).
Always check with the Athletic Director, Oscar Gonzalez, (gonzalezo@mercyhigh.org) before transferring to understand how eligibility may be affected.
