Transfer Timeline & Eligibility for Sports

NSAA Transfer & Eligibility Rules (Nebraska)

If a student transfers schools and wants to participate in NSAA sports, the following rules apply:

  • To be immediately eligible, the transfer must be filed with the NSAA by March 15 for the following school year (for all sports, including spring).

  • Transfers filed after March 15 will result in a 90 school-day waiting period before varsity participation is allowed.

  • This rule applies once during high school unless there is a parental change of residence.

  • Hardship waivers may be available for non-athletic reasons (e.g., family relocation, illness, etc.).

Always check with the Athletic Director, Oscar Gonzalez, (gonzalezo@mercyhigh.org) before transferring to understand how eligibility may be affected.

For questions, please contact Director of Admissions & Recruitment,
Sammi Marousek, at (402)553-9424 or marouseks@mercyhigh.org.
