Welcome to Mercy! I invite you to learn more about our unique community. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, their influence permeates everything we do. We are a school founded by women, for women, and we help our students grow into confident, knowledgeable women of Mercy, strong in their faith and committed to compassionate service in our community and around the world.
To facilitate this growth, we provide our students with a strong academic program. Our students have access to a variety of Advanced Placementâ and dual enrollment courses to give them a head start as they go to college. They participate in rigorous courses in our newly renovated state-of-the-art science labs. They embrace their artistic passions in art, music, theatre and dance classes. With their iPads, our students learn to use technology to communicate, create, and problem-solve in this modern society. Alongside this focus on academic excellence, we have programs in place to ensure that every student has the support she needs to succeed.
The Mercy community is one of our greatest assets. We are blessed with a faculty that views their jobs as a partnership between themselves, students, and parents. They hold high expectations for our students, and assist each student to reach her highest potential. Our students come to Mercy from every residential zip code in the Omaha area, which contributes to the diversity of our population. This diversity benefits our students as they work together to solve problems, grow in faith and contribute more than 11,000 hours of service annually. Our parents are our partners in education, a driving force behind our fundraisers, and our greatest fans in the audience or the stands. Our alumnae, 14 of whom are on our staff, partner with us for prayer and job shadowing experiences as they live as women of Mercy in the Omaha community and around the world. Finally, we are gifted with the Sisters of Mercy who are with us in our building, modeling a joyful life of service and sharing a comfortable cup of tea.
