“One of the areas in which Elizabeth has thrived at Mercy is service. Mercy has provided numerous opportunities for Elizabeth to become involved in the community. She seeks out new ways to make a difference and we thank Mercy for fostering this environment.”

We feel that two of the most lasting gifts we can offer our children are a strong education
and deep faith. Mercy High School beautifully weaves these two elements into the fabric of our daughters’ lives.

There is no better place I would send my daughter to get an education - academically and more important, spiritually.

Never have we regretted sending not one, but two daughters to Mercy. We expect that the preparation and dedication shown for learning by the older daughter will be repeated by the younger. We also expect that the younger daughter will be just as comfortable attending a national event or bringing potluck for a prom dinner as the older daughter was. What more could we ask than to have a child enter at age 14, and graduate a woman at age 18?

A single sex secondary education has always been a priority to my husband Bill and me. The choice to have our daughter become a “Mercy girl” was made because of its size, tradition in the community, diversity, and for the top notch curriculum and faculty. Today I’m not only a proud alumna of Mercy but a proud Mercy MOM.

St. Columbkille

Simply stated, our daughter Laura is a Mercy Girl because it provides her the best opportunity to achieve the educational, social, and spiritual skills to help her succeed in life. We have been impressed by the superior academic programs, the structured and disciplined learning environment, the dedication and commitment of the teachers, and the sense of welcoming by the Mercy community.

When Elise speaks of Mercy, I have the sense that she has found a home away from home. Now in her senior year, I am filled with gratitude for this school that has embraced her for who she is, challenged her to grow both spiritually and academically, and revealed to her God's love through those around her. I know this school will always be close to her heart, regardless of where the future takes her.

"When our daughter started at Mercy 2 years ago, we were really concerned about how she would do in high school. Then, she was quiet, shy and unsure of herself. Mercy has given her the confidence, knowledge, support and faith that has helped her grow both academically and spiritually. The Mercy family has always welcomed us and everyone is treated equally."

Julia Brekel
Daughter Kaitlin Brekel, Class of 2012
Our Lady of Lourdes

Two weeks ago, while behind the wheel, Laura said out of the blue:
“Mom, thanks for sending me to Mercy.” My face lit up and my heart skipped a beat.

We sent our daughter to Mercy to grow spiritually in her Catholic faith with families who believed the same way.
We wanted her to be challenged academically in a safe environment and have the opportunity to experience leadership positions so that one day she could lead.

We have only been with Mercy for a few short months but already our dreams have been surpassed. We thank the teachers, administration and all the families who have made us feel welcome and included. We look forward to a long and bright future with Mercy.

Both Patrick and I feel that Mackenzie being a Mercy girl symbolizes what it truly is to be a strong woman. Mercy will instill in her not only the valued eduacation that we desire for her, but it will also teach her compassion, empathy, warmth, and the true value of what it is to be a confident woman living in today's world. We know that she will be given the guidance and instruction that she needs to be successful in preparing her for the years in college that are in her future.
